Discover HydroFLEX – The UK’s First Hydrogen Train

Climb aboard the UK’s only operational heavy-rail hydrogen passenger train, HydroFLEX – developed by Porterbrook and proudly hosted at the home of Rail Live.

To mark Railway 200, HydroFLEX will unveil a striking new livery for the very first time, exclusively at Rail Live.

Explore the future of sustainable travel by stepping inside the onboard boardroom carriage, where you can engage with hands-on activities and interactive demonstrations of hydrogen fuel cell technology.

For an even deeper dive, join an exclusive tour of the hydrochamber, guided by Porterbrook’s expert engineers. Places are limited and allocated on a first-come, first-served basis – simply speak to a Porterbrook team member on board the train to book your place.

Experience the Future Driver’s Seat with VR

Take your place in the virtual driver’s cab and see the railway from a whole new perspective. Using immersive virtual reality, you’ll be transported onto the UK’s only continuous test loop – a 3.5km electrified track currently under development at the Long Marston Rail Innovation Centre.

This pioneering facility is designed to accelerate the next generation of electric and multi-mode fleets – and now, you can experience it for yourself.

Head to the Porterbrook marquee at stand E1 to step into the future and explore this state-of-the-art test track before it even opens.
