Making sure water isn't the enemy of the railway
Carmont has not been the only recent event where the secondary effects of climate change on the operation of the railway became tragically evident. Potentially the most critical element of this response is how the industry manages water as peak and seasonal rainfall increases the pressure on drainage systems and on the earthworks supporting the railway. The brilliant Mona Sihota joins Gareth Dennis to talk about how pioneering, innovative digital tools were designed and delivered to form the foundation of this transformation - and how cultures were adapted to make use of them.
