Progress Rail Services UK, a Caterpillar Company with over 100 years of manufacturing experience specialises in the design and manufacture of permanent way switches, crossings and engineered products for main line, freight, industrial and light rail customers in the UK and globally.

Our in-house facilities produce full and shallow depth switches, cast manganese, part welded and fabricated crossings, check rails, cast/SG iron baseplates, various fabricated products, and complete Layout assemblies. PRSUK therefore has total control of design and manufacture of all major parts, products and assemblies enabling minimum risk to supply.

In addition to our extensive products and services, Progress Rail has recently announced a strategic partnership with Railmonitor to combine ‘real time’ digital monitoring technology of switches, track and infrastructure with rail infrastructure expertise. The collaboration aims to deliver data‑driven solutions that improve track reliability, reduce downtime, and enhance lifecycle performance, enabling predictive, condition‑based maintenance instead of reactive approaches.
