Low Emissivity Magnetic U Reflector (Aluminium Glass) - Version 15
LEMUR-AG15, a novel technology originally developed to solve Network Rails challenges of overheating assets during summer periods. This fully passive system provides a highly efficient protective skin from the effects of solar gain.
The engineered material has a composite structure manufactured from aluminium and woven glass, backed with a structural adhesive tape. The aluminium outer laminate diffuses and reflects transverse electromagnetic waves. The glass-e inner woven textiles provide high insulating properties, which prevents thermal conduction. The weave pattern in the glass-e produces a dimpled surface when the aluminium is laminated creating a diffused surface by design.
Combining the properties of these materials results in LEMUR-AG15 blocking approximately 98% of solar gain, significantly reducing the heating effect of direct sunlight on trackside equipment.
Patterns can be produced for enclosures of virtually any size, including impedance bonds, TI21 tuning units, points machines, loc’s, and REBs. Installation is simple and efficient, the peel-and-stick application can be completed in minutes, providing immediate protection for the asset.
