The Problem

The client required a pit to carry out general inspection and maintenance work, as well as bogie washing. Due to the pit being located outside, condensation coming from steam, and the requirements to wash bogies, the pit needed to be protected from the conditions causing rust and corrosion, whilst offering a safe and well lit environment.

The Solution

After a consultation period discussing the design, and understanding the needs of the client, Premier Pits manufactured and installed a 17m Galvanised Rail Pit with a sump with a pump and weir to control waterflow. The galvanised finish offers protection against rust.
