Cost versus sustainability: is there a trade off?
Cost versus sustainability trade off. It doesn’t always have to be a trade off, sustainable doesn’t have to mean expensive.
The premise being that in a lot of cases clients are almost conditioned into buying what will have best ROI within say a CP or franchise window; rather than being empowered to consider whole lift cost (ie capex vs opex), which means quality products that offer better longevity whilst being a greener option can be overlooked.
As we move towards GBR, could we look at this really proactively: the end of franchise windows in the TOC sense, and the need for RNEP give us as an industry the chance to really look at value for money through a less short-termism lens. How can the full value chain come together to deliver best value to the customer and the taxpayer?
